Founded in 1982, the Young People's Trust for the Environment charity works to provide engaging learning experiences aiming to broaden young people’s understanding of the environment and the urgent need for environmental protection and sustainability. 

YPTE strive to increase environmental awareness by educating young people about environmental threats, such as climate change, pollution, endangered wildlife and deforestation. They inspire young people to connect with their environment at both a local and global level, and teach them about the need for environmental conservation, sustainable development, and the vital role of renewable energy in the challenge to reduce our use of fossil fuels. 

YPTE work hard to provide new and engaging learning opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds. As well as delivering school talks, they offer free lesson plans and teaching resources such as videos, fact sheets, and interactive games. They have also worked with schools to create new spaces for outdoor education within the school grounds.
